JOBS WITH MARK WARNER

We are pleased to announce a recruitment partnership with Mark Warner available to any of our clients that have either their level 1 or level 2 instructor qualifications. If you are interested in working in Europe then this is a great opportunity to work for an excellent company. To apply for an interview simply go to www.markwarner-recruitment.co.uk . Mark Warner are well informed about the training provided on a NONSTOP course and the skills that our clients develop, subsequently they will be considered strong applicants.

RECORD BREAKING SEASON

From yet another fantastic winter for snow stats (1,118 cm in Fernie) to a whopping 100% level 2 pass rate in Whistler; it's been a corker of a season. We're extremely proud of all the 07/08 NONSTOPpers and very sad to say goodbye to so many new friends.

ZERO TO HERO

If you don't have the Whitleines Spring '08 issue then rush out and buy it now. NONSTOP's 3-week instructor course has a 4-page spread, detailing their roving reporter, Pete Rees' highs (nailing it down powder runs) and lows (pre exam jitters) as he attempts to become a snowboard instructor.

ONE LIFE LIVE - Stand B12

You only have one life - live it! That's the sentiment of the One Life Show and here at NONSTOP we're pretty firm believers in taking that attitude. If you're still looking for an exciting challenge or goal for 2008 then come along to Olympia and you'll be sure to find something that inspires you... maybe 11 weeks in Canada?

A 2-WEEK FERNIE TREAT

Improve your skills dramatically on a 2-week training holiday with a difference from 01 - 15 March 2008. In a year of record breaking snowfall and perfect conditions the last few places are going fast. So don't delay, sign up for an amazing adventure.... you know you want to.

RECORD BREAKING WHISTLER

Whistler has hit its January snowfall average early and was above average for November and December. Today the snow base is 96" and over the past three months the snowfall records are up by an average of 12" per month! (Photo by Paul Morrison. Rider, Annie Boulanger)

BREAKFAST BUFFET

No wonder NONSTOP seasonaires ride so well, they'd give the Energizer bunny a run for his money after a hearty feast like this every morning. It looks like it's more then just the epic snow conditions that's giving all of us back in Blighty good reason to be jealous.

FERNIE IS BLESSED!

As the powder capital of the Rockies, lets start talking inches! A stunning 90" (225cm) snowpack and 15 ft (440cm) of snow so far this winter, with 26" (66cm) of it falling in the last week is the sign of a great season ahead for Fernie. NB. Photo - snowbank outside the OGS (NONSTOP accommodation)

NEW YEAR'S EVE

Red Tree Lodge seasonaires saw in the new year in style. After the 4-course banquet all decorum went out of the window with 'The String Game'. Other old favourites such as, 'Pass the banana between your legs' and 'Pass the orange without using your hands' ensured standards slipped further still.

OPEN FOR BUSINESS

After much hard graft and thanks to the mammoth efforts of many the Red Tree Lodge is finally up and running. Clients are flooding through the restaurant doors to try out the yummy new menu and to check out the latest 'hot spot' in town. So if you're in the area be sure to drop in.

WHITE POWDER EVERYWHERE

Western Canada is currently looking pretty damn white. The snow in Fernie can’t fall fast enough with over 19 inches in the past 24 hours, whilst Sunshine Village in Banff has had 18 inches and it isn't finished yet. I'm currently drooling at the thought of this white haven.

WHISTLER

Here they are! In all their snow-covered glory, Whistler's beautiful peaks. Taylor has been out enjoying the feel of fresh snow under her skis and is getting pretty excited over the NONSTOPpers' imminent arrival. Hands up, who wants to be out there right now?

SNOW GLORIOUS SNOW

Taken a few weeks ago, here's Fernie on the cusp of winter looking majestic in this season's autumnal shades. Not long now before some of us will be out there waking up to views of the mountains every morning...ah, it's a tough life!

BIRMINGHAM GLOBAL SNOW SHOW

A ski and snowboard show in November should really get your taste buds going so come and meet the team and find out more about our courses at Stand 1.1, 02 - 04 Nov 2007 - Birmingham NEC We're always happy to talk snow sports and are looking forward to meeting you all!

LONDON SKI & SNOWBOARD SHOW

Hang up your flip flops, it's time for the London Metro Ski & Snowboard Show! Meet us and our special mystery guest and find out more about our courses. Stand 532, London's Olympia, 24 - 28 Oct. Plus, we have 30 tickets (worth £12.50) to give away so 'email us' and tell us why you deserve one!

ROAD TRIP!!!

If any Fernie 11 weekers would like to stay on in Canada at the end of the season we're offering a fantastic road trip opportunity to Lake Louise.

The week long trip will leave Fernie on 9th April and everyone will stay at the cosy YHA hostel. A Lake Louise lift pass, accommodation and transport from Fernie are all included.

At only £150 it's a great opportunity to get more time on the slopes and see a little more of Canada. Only open to seasonaires on the Fernie 11 week course, it's a great way to end the season!

NONSTOP LODGE

We're the proud new owners of a 40 bedroom lodge in the heart of Fernie. 'The lodge', which is undergoing a $750,000 refurbishment through the summer, has a comfortable welcoming atmosphere with numerous social spaces and fantastic facilities.

PASS RATES

It's been a fantastic season in Canada as the exam results prove. Of our 211 11-week clients, 100 chose to take level 2 and a massive 90% passed. Those that didn't take level 2 took the AMP programme which was as always a huge success. Well done to all and thanks to our fab instructors who worked so hard to bring about this huge success story.

BUSC BOARDER X

A boarder flies past the NONSTOP flag at the BUSC Skier/Boarder X. Proud sponsors that we are, we thought you'd want to share in our moment of glory.

100% LEVEL 1 PASS RATE

Hard work, great snow and coaching from our team of top notch instructors has lead to 100% rate for all those on our Master the Mountain and 11 week courses. All but two clients returned home as level 1 instructors after being on our 3 week instructor course over New Year. Congratulations to all!

PROGRESSION SESSIONS

Our 11-week and 6-week courses have been going for a few weeks now and many riders are now qualified level 1 instructors. The riding in Canada is superb and everyone is pushing their riding to new levels. Here's a photo from our Red Mountain seasonaires.

KIT BUYING TIME

All our 11-week courses have now started and everybody has settled in well. The first day was spent touring the town and buying any snowboard kit still needed. As you can see from the photo the local shop owners were more than happy to help with advise!

IT JUST KEEPS ON COMING!

Ah, who cares when you can ski to work instead? The snow keeps on falling in Fernie, fingers crossed for a record breaking year.

HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE?

Fernie is seeing some serious Griz loving with such a ridiculous amount of snow this early in the season. It looks like our seasonaires will need ice picks and snow shovels just to get out of their front doors very soon.

BEST START TO A SEASON!

The snow is falling, and there is lots of it according to Jeff Marks our Technical Director. Bet you can't wait to get out there now!

SUMMER IS OVER

Winter has arrived in the Rockies and it's time to bring out the skis. Fresh snow has fallen in Fernie, Banff and Red Mountain. This is a photo of Amy's (our Fernie snowboard course host) bike this morning (27.10.06) covered in fresh powder.

Winter is here...bring it on

WINTER ON ITS WAY

The excitment is rising. 18cm of snow fell in Fernie and the mountains are looking beautiful.

RED MOUNTAIN VIDEO

We found this short movie from Red Mountain on the web. Red is home to one of our 11-week courses and is regarded as the best resort for deep snow, empty pistes and lots of super fun terrain - as this video shows. Click here to watch the movie: http://www.youtube.com/

SNOWBOARDING IN YOUR GARDEN

Here’s a short clip from Fernie last season. Most of our houses in Fernie and Red Mt have good sized gardens so it’s easy to build rails, kickers and quarter pipes for evening entertainment. Each year new features get built, growing, adapting and improving as the weather dictates. The best houses have roofs that you can use as a drop-in to pick up speed and some past clients have even had rails professionally welded. A good backyard park lets you ride after the lifts have closed and is a great way to improve your riding.

INDUSTRY RECOGNITION

NONSTOP past participants are instructing at resorts across Canada... and doing a fantastic job it seems. We just received this e-mail from Mike Manara, the ski school director at Mt. Washington, BC.

"I just wanted to let you both know that I am extremely impressed with the quality of instructors that the Red Mountain NONSTOP program has produced. The ski pros that I have been able to recruit from your program have delivered exceptional customer service, demonstrated a solid technical and teaching background and most importantly have shown what great people skills they have. I believe this is because of the top quality instruction that they received while at Red Mountain last season and because of the small town charm that Rossland possesses. I would strongly recommend other Ski School Directors to look at the NONSTOP program for recruiting efforts and would be more then happy to review applications from graduates of your program."

READ UP ON RED

Alan has developed an awesome website where he posts regular diary entries and photos of his experience on our 11-week course. Check out: www.toomuchinfo.co.uk/canada.

THE WORLD'S DEEPEST SNOW PACK?

At 301 cm (119") deep, Fernie's snow pack is currently the deepest in Canada and might well be the deepest in the world! Our 11-week seasonaires arrived to the best snow conditions they had ever seen and needless to say the course has started as well as any of us could have imagined!

THE NONSTOP TEAM

In mid December all our staff involved in NONSTOP programmes gathered together in Fernie for our annual pre-season training. This is a unique event bringing together Canada's top instructors in one resort to discuss the forthcoming courses and to share ideas and experiences from previous courses. A lot of fun was had and everyone left feeling excited and ready to welcome the next intake of NONSTOP participants.

FIRST LESSON

Had my first day of work in about 5 months as I got called in early by the snowboard school and started working last Sunday! I've been loving working as an instructor so far as it has been sunny with blue skies at the top of the mountain and I finished early today and got paid to freeride for a couple of hours! My first class went really well and 2 of the people I instructed are coming back and requesting me which means extra pay! Not bad for my first day! They also sent me an email with some pictures from the day so I've forwarded them with this email. There was lots of fresh snow around last weekend as you can see. Not much new snow forecast for the next week but I'm teaching 5 days a week now so it's all good. Trev

LIVING THE DREAM

We keep getting updates of where our past seasonaires are working this winter, here's a taster: Fernie, Whistler, Banff, Lake Tahoe, Copper Mountain, Lake Louise, Mammoth Silver Star, Cyrpus Mt, Sunshine, Vermont, Utah, We hope everyone has an awesome season. Send us photos and keep in touch.

REUNION PARTY

Thanks to everyone who made it to the NONSTOP reunion. Over 100 past participants made it to Clapham, South London and it was awesome to catch up with so many old friends. We'll hold another event at some point next year so stay tuned.

NEW + NEW + NEW

If you’ve previously visited us on the web you might notice that we’ve changed our logo and image a bit. We’re stoked with the developments that have been made and hope you like the new look too. A lot of NONSTOP clients had a input into the new design and we’re grateful for their help and advice. If you would like to order a copy of the new brochure click here…
