Our aim? Simple, whether your goal is to instruct or not, at the end of the snowboard instructor course we'll have you riding like a pro. So how do we achieve this?
CANADA’S BEST INSTRUCTORS
Our experienced instructors are sponsored coaches, qualified instructor examiners and leading members of CASI. They provide the highest standard of professional coaching available and alternating instructors between groups ensures you benefit from their individual teaching styles. To find out more about our instructors click here.
PROVEN SUCCESS STORIES
Our Level 1 pass rate, to date, is an impressive 100%. About half the participants on our 11-week snowboard instructor course opt for the Level 2 and last season an awesome 93% were successful.
A CHOICE OF COURSE ROUTES
Whether your ambition for the course is to use it as a focused way of taking time out or to develop a career as an instructor, we offer two options after taking Level 1. You can choose to either train for Level 2 or concentrate your personal technique by taking the AMP (All Mountain Pro) course (see below).
A CAREFULLY PLANNED WEEKLY TIMETABLE
We include 25 hours of on and off snow coaching each week. Group lessons take place four days a week, for five hours per day. The fifth day is either used for 1:1 coaching sessions, additional courses (see below), long weekend trips (see below) and for free-skiing and crucially, practising what you have been taught during the week. From experience we know that this is the most successful formula for our clients, it is one that we have developed through six years of running the programmes and from continual client feedback.
EFFICIENT USE OF ON SNOW COACHING
Although influenced by snow conditions, as a general rule we concentrate on instructor techniques in the morning and personal riding skills in the afternoon. Both sessions develop a technical understanding of snowboarding and enable you to correct your mistakes by critically analysing your technique.
OFF SNOW TECH SESSIONS
To complement the on-snow coaching, we provide weekly technical sessions which include: teaching techniques, lesson planning, snowboard theory, equipment design, snowboard maintenance, boot fitting and a careers advice seminar.
SMALL GROUP SIZES
We ensure small instructor group sizes of between six and eight people, allowing instructors to pay close attention to everyone's needs and yet ensuring enough people per group to learn from each other and to use as test students in practise lessons.
1:1 PRIVATE COACHING
Unique to NONSTOP, these sessions are perfect for you and your instructor to work on specific skills and to discuss your ambitions for the programme. The sessions are held before the level 1 and level 2 assessments.
RIDE WITH PEOPLE OF A SIMILAR ABILITY
Our instructor groups are split according to ability and experience. Due to the popularity of our courses we have the capacity to group individuals with others of a similar ability, this ensures no one slows the group down or is held back by their peers. To find out your ability level… click here.
VIDEO ANALYSIS
This will help you critique riding styles in yourself and others and develop your skills in ‘detection and correction’. NONSTOP own plenty of video cameras and we have access to video playback screens close to the slopes.
VARIED TERRAIN
Canada’s varied terrain and deep powder conditions result in a rapid rate of progression. Our coaching will develop your personal technique in all conditions including on piste, in the terrain park, and in powder.
WORK EXPERIENCE
After you have achieved your Level 1 certification you have the opportunity to gain work experience in the local snowboard school, an invaluable experience that looks great to future employers.

NONSTOP Snowboard provides the opportunity to gain Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) qualifications. CASI is a member of the ISIA (International Ski Instructors Association) and is internationally recognised throughout the snowsports industry.
While on our 11 week course we offer the chance to gain the following qualifications:

CASI LEVEL 1
Most people will take Level 1 in week 5 of the course, after which there's a one to one review session with a NONSTOP coach. This is an opportunity to discuss your aims for the remainder of the course and get advice on the most suitable route to take (see below).
 CASI LEVEL 2
A significant step-up from Level 1, the Level 2 assessment will require dedicated commitment throughout the 11-weeks. The main Level 2 exam is held in week 11 but in some instances we can offer a second chance to take Level 2 once the course is over, allowing another weeks coaching during the course and be better preparation for the assessment.
CASI PARK & PIPE AND RACE COACH
We also offer the chance to train for and achieve coaching qualifications such as the CASI Park & Pipe (developing your freestyle skills off kickers, in the half pipe and on rails) and CASI Race Coach (slalom racing).

At NONSTOP Snowboard we realise the importance of offering more than just instructor training. So for riders who are more interested in improving their personal snowboarding technique (instead of CASI level 2) the All Mountain Pro certification is the perfect answer. AMP delivers a structured improvement course with defined standards and set goals so that after the Level 1 instructor exam (held in week 5) you can make the most of the conditions while pushing your snowboard progression right through to the end of the course.

Our package includes flights from the UK to either Calgary (Fernie & Banff courses) or Vancouver (Red Mt & Whistler courses) with Air Canada. A UK member of staff will be on hand at Heathrow to see you off. You'll then be welcomed into Canada by your Course Directors before taking the transfer bus to the resort.
We can arrange alternative flight dates for those who are staying in Canada before and/or after their course. Normally there is no additional charge for this, but please check with us for further details.
We deduct £450 if you do not require a flight (for instance if flying from outside the UK or the course is part of a 'round the world' trip).

In the unlikely event that direct flights are unavailable we will inform you of this and then look to book indirect flights instead. It is worth noting that the earlier you book your course the more likely we can secure a direct flight.
