Banff

Meet The Team

We pride ourselves on employing the best. Nearly all our staff are Canadian or local to Banff and can give you valuable insight; far more than some UK rep who has just arrived. We consistently hear that our staff made the course even better than could be expected.

Residential Staff

Tysen Pickett

Programme Director

Originally from Smoky Lake, Alberta, Tysen went to Lake Louise age seven on his first ever family ski trip and it's been his favourite place to ski ever since. He has gained his level 3, Park & Pipe certificate and Park & Pipe and level 1 Course Conductors.

Tysen loves ripping it up between the trees and for him training and working with friends in the mountains has been a real high point in his life. Retiring from instructing early through a back injury he now brings his expertise to NONSTOP but still takes his pets, 180 Nordica Beasts, out on a regular basis and of course there’s still enough space in his big heart for the other love of his life, the Edmonton Oilers – (The ice hockey team in case you were thinking gruff oil-rig workers!)

The Instructors

To enable us to offer these unique training programmes utilizing three separate ski resorts we have teamed up with Ski Big 3, Banff's premier winter sports school. Our technical director has extensive experience working on similar programmes and will co-ordinate the coaching across all three resorts.

The NONSTOP Snowboard Coaches

Marc Tanguay

Technical Director

One of the best!

Marc is the technical director for the Banff NONSTOP Snowboard programmes. Originally from Montreal, Quebec, he's been riding for 15 years and been involved in CASI since the early days. Marc is one of just a handful of qualified Level 4 examiners so brings to the team a wealth of knowledge that few other programmes can hope to match. He also has his race and freestyle coaching qualifications. Always up for a good time Marc plays hard and rides hard and will push your riding throughout your time in Banff.

Brian Baker

Level Snowboard Instructor

Always one of the favourites

Brian moved to the Rockies when he was a mere whipper snapper of 18 and has never looked back. Now an experienced CASI level 4 instructor he has been instructing for the past nine years and loves to ride the backcountry and park. When spring arrives he he sticks to the board theme, enjoying wakeboarding and surfing.

Adam Bertsch

Freestyle specialist

As soon as he finished high school, in the flat province of Saskatchewan , Adam packed up his 1978 Chevy Malibu station wagon and headed for Banff . After a couple of weeks kipping in his car he found himself a cosy little trailer and has since spent the past seven years teaching snowboarding and coaching a freestyle team in Calgary. In his spare time he enjoys entering the odd competition himself and jamming on his sax or didgeridoo around a camp fire
