Fernie

Accommodation & Meals

We know how important accommodation is whilst you are on our courses, after all it will be your home for the duration of the program. We believe we offer the best accommodation and meals over any other instructor training company. Our courses in Fernie benefit from two types of accommodation: our very own Red Tree Lodge or private houses.

The Red Tree Lodge

We are proud to be the owners of a 42 bedroom lodge in the very centre of Fernie. The lodge, which underwent an extensive refurbishment through the summer of 2007, has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and fantastic facilities. Breakfast and supper are served at our adjoining restaurant which is also open to the public and is known as one of Fernie's premier restaurants.

The lodge has spacious bedrooms each with two double beds and an en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom has views of the stunning local mountains and some have private balconies. There are a variety of bedroom configurations: the majority of rooms are twin rooms (two double beds), some are triples (three single beds) and a select few are quads (two bunk beds).

Houses

For those wanting a more independent experience we offer the chance to live in a house in downtown Fernie just a few minutes walk from the bars and shops on the main street and from the NONSTOP lodge.

Living in a house will allow more space, privacy and self-sufficiency than living in the lodge. In a house you will be sharing a sitting room, dining room, bathroom and kitchen with others on the same course as you; meaning you can chill out with your house mates and a DVD in your time off or perhaps cook up a storm in the kitchen.

Those living in houses will still be able to enjoy and use all the facilities at the lodge.

Meals

Breakfast

From Monday to Friday excellent weekday breakfasts are served at our Lodge fuelling you for a day on themountain. We serve a continental buffet breakfast with hot porridge, fruit salads, yogurts, a wide selection of cereals and muesli, toast and jams, juices, hot chocolate, tea and coffee.

Suppers

Our restaurant at the lodge serves delicious hearty, healthy three course meals - starter, main and desert four days a week. We know how important it is to eat well when you're on the mountain each day and owning our own restaurant ensures we have direct control over the service and quality of meals we provide our participants. Supper is an important social time when the day's stories of powder turns are shared and when our course hosts can update you on forthcoming events.  Many choose to stay down in the bar after dinner and have a few drinks before the evenings activities... or perhaps an early bed time!

Accommodation for Couples

We have plenty of couples coming on our courses and can easily accommodate you. Please contact us in the office with your questions.

Accommodation for Groups

If you are keen to come as a group please get in touch with us so we can tailor a package to your needs. For instance we have seperate homes that could be perfect.

Pre & Post Stays

Like everyone that visits Fernie, you won't want to leave. We now offer accommodation both before and after our 11-week courses so that you can spend between 3 to 6 months in Canada.  If you would like to arrive early or stay on later on any of our other courses please contact the office for details.

This is a great chance to enjoy the quiet early season powder days and to get some practice in before your course starts. You can arrive in Fernie anytime from early December and stay as late as mid April when the resort closes. Additional accommodation is charged at a rate of between $200-300/week. Your season pass is valid from the time you arrive in Fernie to the day the resort closes.
