Red Mountain

Meet The Team

We pride ourselves on employing the best. Nearly all our staff are Canadian or local to Red and can give you valuable insight; far more than some UK rep who has just arrived. We consistently hear that our staff made the course even better than could be expected.

Residential staff

Mark Impey

Red Mt Programme Director

Skier extroardinaire - but an aspiring snowboarder!

Mark has been living in Rossland and Red Mountain for years and what he doesn't know about the place isn't worth knowing! Mark will be on hand to help with any advice you need or questions you have. You will also see him on the slopes as he is one of the best ski instructors in Canada - he may be a skier but he's super fast on a snowboard and will be joining your lessons when he can get on his board - in May 2010 Mark even gained the CASI level 1 Snowboard Instructor certification!

Stacey Cleavey

Resort Host

And so much more!

Stacey does it all and she does it with tons of enthusiasm! From driving the bus, to attending meals, answering all your questions, adventuring out on weekend trips and socialising with you.  Her caring nature ensures your trip encompasses loads of laughs, riding improvement, deep powder, and real true Kootenay Mountain Culture.

Growing up in the Rossland area and skiing Red Mountain for a large part of her life, Stacey will fill you in on all the secret stashes on the mountain, and will help you learn the mountain culture that you’ll soon call home. Rossland is a place that’s hard to leave, and Stacey will make your trip so much fun, that returning to Rossland is a guarantee!

The Instructors

We have an excellent team of instructors in RED all of whom have been selected for their experience in coaching our programmes and for their extensive local knowledge. They will ensure that you are enjoying the best conditions on the mountain and take you to all those 'secret stashes' of untracked powder. You will have lift line priority during your lessons so on the rare occasion that there are lift queues you will be able to maximise your time on the slopes.

The NONSTOP Snowboard Coaches

Matt Brigs

Level 3 Snowboard Instructor

Always pushing it to the max!

Matt has been snowboarding for years and is extremely well qualified with his Canadian Snowboard Instructors Alliance Level 3 and Canadian Snowboard Instructors Alliance Level 1 Course Conductor. He believes that the best way to teach is by providing his students with small steps to help them learn best, take one small step and build on it with another. This way students feel stronger and often challenge themselves more outside of the lessons. Rushing ahead can often send students backwards. He loves riding with friends or in a group and being able to feed off each other. This is a good way to push yourself and become a better snowboarder. His favorite run is Powderfields.
