Take your park riding to the next level with our fantastic Whistler freestyle camps. Receive expert tuition from top pro's and nail the tricks you've always wanted to.
OVERVIEW
Our two week freestyle snowboard courses are held in Whistler, the home of freestyle in North America. The numerous parks, pipes, rails and kickers in Whistler make it the ideal place to develop new moves or progress into freestyle snowboarding. These snowboard courses are aimed at those looking to take their snowboarding in a new direction or for those keen to master a new freestyle move.
THE COACHING
Our two week freestyle snowboard courses will focus on both your freeride and freestyle technique. In order to pull off freestyle moves you will need to be a competent snowboarder already; our snowboard course ensures you will have the necessary skills to master both of these disciplines. Our pros will coach to your ability level so don't worry if you have not done freestyle before; alternatively if you are looking to perfect your 720's or grabs our instructors can help you with any areas that need work. You will receive five hours of instruction a day four days a week, giving you plenty of time to quiz your instructor on any questions you might have. The remaining three days are there for the crucial practice hours you need to put in to perfect the new tricks. During the two weeks our instructors will use video analysis to fine tune your technique on new tricks. We have access to video playback facilities on the mountain so you can just pop in after a session and not waste anytime analysing new tricks before you head out to try them again.
SNOWBOARD MAINTANENCE
After a couple of days of hitting the kickers and rails your board will need some looking after. Our comprehensive evening session covers board design and construction plus tuning and maintenance techniques including base preparation, edge sharpening and waxing ensuring your board will be back to its best in no time.
WHISTLER
"North America's No. 1 resort" Whistler is a world famous resort and fully deserves its reputation as the number 1 resort in North America. For amazing terrain, world class lift systems and an amazing choice of bars and restaurants, head to Whistler. Whistler is the freestyle capital of North America, it's Nintendo parks offer five levels from beginner, to pro lines so that there is something for all abilities. Its world class half pipes are there for those keen to work on this area of freestyle. The Terrain Garden also provides you with the perfect place to learn new moves without the risk of hurting yourself ! There are also plenty of rail boxes, kickers and spines for those who are keen to work on their rail slides. All in all a great place to develop your freestyle riding.
ACCOMMODATION & MEALS
You will stay in comfortable, modern and well equipped houses in Whistler's Creekside area. The properties are fully furnished, spacious and homely. They range in size from between two to five bedrooms (four to ten people). Most will share a twin room although there are a limited number of single rooms available. Couples applying together will be offered a private double room - please ring the office for further details. Each house has a communal living area with comfy sofas, fireplace, TV, DVD and stereo. Plus each house has a spacious dinning area and well equipped kitchen where you can prepare weekend meals. For you to make the most of your time on the snow it's important that you eat well. Whistler has dozens of fantastic local restaurants and twice a week NONSTOP provide a healthy, hearty supper when the whole group can get together to socialise and celebrate each others new tricks.
FLIGHTS
Our package includes flights from the UK to Canada with Air Canada. A UK member of staff will be on hand at Heathrow to see you off and answer any last minute questions. You'll then be welcomed into Canada by a course director, before taking the transfer bus to the resort. We can arrange alternative flight dates for those who are staying in Canada before and/or after their course. Normally there is no additional charge for this, but please check with us for further details. In the unlikely event that direct flights are unavailable we will inform you of this and then look to book an indirect flight. It is worth noting that the earlier you book your course the more likely we can secure a direct flight.
