11-Week Snowboard Instructor Courses
Extra Activities
We want you to experience as much of Canadian mountain life as possible and our Credit Activities allow you to do just that. During the course we organise a variety of "ADDITIONAL TRAINING" courses and "ACTIVITIES & TRIPS AWAY" designed to ensure that you leave Canada with a good knowledge of the local area and having experienced more than just great riding!
Activity credits
Included in the programme cost are 60 “activity credits”, worth $600, for you to choose the courses and trips that interest you. Although we've devised our course to ensure you experience lots, but also get to take some time off to rest, there's always a few people who want to 'do it all'. As such they can buy additional credits for CD$10.
Here’s what’s on offer:
The extra activities explained
Additional Training
We organise a range of additional training activites so that you can develop your mountain skills and enhance your CV for potential employers.
Avalanche course
Finding fresh tracks after a huge dump of powder is one of the best things about snowboarding but we believe it is essential that our clients are also aware of the risks involved. Certified by the Canadian Avalanche Association this course covers; avalanche theory, route finding, stability assessment and search and rescue techniques including the use of transceivers, shovels and probes.
Winter survival camping
Instruction on winter camping techniques incorporating indoor theory, backcountry touring, and a night on the mountain sleeping in self made snow shelters. This is a great team building and group management exercise as well as being a rewarding and enjoyable experience that will remain with you for years to come.

First Aid skills are vital on the mountain
Winter first aid
Encouraged by many ski schools and recommended for backcountry riding, the first aid course provides practical experience, knowledge and confidence on how to react to an emergency. A wide variety of principle first aid topics are covered such as how to deal with frostbite, bleeding, breaks, and shock.
Activities & Away Trips
We organise a range of activities and away trips designed so that you get the most out of your Canadian mountain experience. These activities are not the ones you would do on your typical snowboard holiday and we hope you leave with lasting memories of them
Guided backcountry touring
A great chance to explore the local backcountry, apply your avalanche training and find your own fresh tracks.
Cat-Boarding
Put your powder skills to the test in untracked bowls and tree runs. A typical day includes 8-10 runs with lifts to the summit in snow cats or piste bashers. This is a highlight of many people's time in Canada.
