3-week instructor course

Season Accommodation - Available in Banff

We offer full season accommodation in Banff as an optional add on for our 3-week snowboard instructor course giving you the optimum opportunity to find work as an instructor.

We have teamed up with a local couple in Banff who run Gap Year Canada and offer full season accommodation lets in Banff, as well as continued support throughout your stay. When you combine this with our 3-week snowboard instructor course that runs early in the season you will have the most effective recipe for finding work in Banff as a snowboard instructor.

There are four snowboard schools in Banff giving you four times the likelyhood of finding work. We have been running courses in Banff for 6 years and are one of the most established operators. We therefore have great links with the snowboard schools and each year have a number of past NONSTOP clients working in all four schools. No company can guarantee work to anyone, despite what they might say; this all comes down to the demand for snowboard instructors and snowboard lessons.

Having full season accommodation can put you ahead of many 'wanna be' instructors in the race to find work. The accommodation shows your employer that you are staying for the long term and will not run off half way through the season.

If you gain the Level 1 CASI through a NONSTOP snowboard instructor course, as long as you have a visa, apply for a job at the right time with a well written C.V/resume and convey your passion for becoming an instructor then you are all set!

The people you live with become more like family – living, working and partying with them 24/7. I am never going to forget the fantastic time I had in Banff. Thank you NONSTOP!

Canadian Work Visas

In order to work in Canada you must obtain a working visa.

The most important thing to remember when applying for a Visa is to apply early!

Canadian 'Non-student Visas' for British citizens are released in early December and often run out by February or March so there is a fairly small window of time in which you can secure a working visa, even though you won't be heading out to your job until November. It pays to plan well in advance if you are thinking of working for a season. If you are under 30, BUNAC offer a Visa application service which is the easiest way of securing yourself a visa. You can find details at bunac.org under the work Canada section.

If you are a student (finishing A'Levels and heading to University or finishing University) you can apply for a 'student working' visa through BUNAC which will enable you to keep your 'Holiday Working Visa' for another year.

If you are over 30 you will need to be sponsored by the ski school you wish to work for in order to work out in Canada. For more information about this please contact the office.

How to Book

If you are interested in the Banff Season Accommodation and 3-week snowboard instructor course package please read the below and then contact the office to discuss your options.

To book both options we would provide you with two separate packages:

Package 1: (The course)

A 3-week instructor course package: This would be the 3-week course altered slightly so that it does not include meals or accommodation. This package includes the 3-week lift pass and bus pass; you can choose to upgrade to the full season lift and bus pass option if you wish. (Please see 'The Package' page on the website for more details).

In order to secure your place on this course we would need a deposit and a completed booking form.  The deposit amount varies depending on the currency you wish to pay in.  (Please note you can pay in several different currencies - GBP, EURO, USD, NZD and AUD - for this portion of the package if you wish).

Package 2: (The accommodation)

A Season Accommodation package: This would provide you with a space in a twin room in one of the lovely comfortable town houses of Banff from the 15th October until the end of April. It is in this part of the package that you can choose to include meals for the duration of the NONSTOP 3-week ski instructor course if you wish - this option is available on the Booking Form.

This part of the package will need to be paid for in Canadian Dollars only. You can either pay into our CAD bank account or we'll perform a currency transfer when you ring up to pay, enabling you to pay on your debit/credit card if you prefer.

For this portion of the combined package we would need a separate booking form completed and a further $425 damage deposit. This $425 deposit is refundable at the end of the season as long as your property has not incurred too much damage.

Please contact the office if you have any questions on the above.
