  ABILITY LEVEL
The chart below shows a rough outline of the MINIMUM standard you need to be to come on any of our courses. There is NO maximum standard; many of our clients have already done several seasons before they join our courses. Every season we have the satisfaction of witnessing both cautious novices transform into solid snowboarders and already experienced riders iron out their bad habits and become some of the best snowboarders on the mountain.

"I had already done a few seasons before I went on the NONSTOP 11 week course and since passing CASI level 3 I'm now instructing for NONSTOP."
Simon Calnan, NONSTOP 2003

At NONSTOP we’ve been fortunate that our courses have been popular. The number of snowboarders on our programs is significantly (sometimes more than double) more than other companies. We have more snowboard instructors and more snowboard groups. This means that our clients always ride with other snowboarders of a similar standard which is more fun and helps you progress faster. It also means there’s no being held up, or pushed too hard, by other members of the group. Having larger courses also allows us to cater for a wide variety of abilities from novice to expert.

The following table is meant only as a guide. We all progress at different rates due to instruction, fitness and natural ability. Custom made packages can often be arranged to suit your needs. For example we can organise an extra week or two before the start of your course to help bring you up to standard.

If you have any queries about your ability or your suitableness for our courses just give us a call. We’re here to help! (0845 365 1525)

GUIDE TO MINIMUM EXPERIENCE LEVELS

Novice You love snowboarding and are super keen to improve. You've have mastered linked turns on green runs and can get down a non bumpy blue run without falling over. You'd never intentionally choose to ride red runs yet.
Intermediate You feel confident on blues and easy reds and when riding pisted runs you don't fall that often. You're beginning to increase and control your speed on easier runs. You can link turns down black runs but tend to pause between each turn. You're keen to learn to jump and ride powder.
Advanced Intermediate You understand how to carve and can control speed on terrain. You've ridden a range of conditions including piste, moguls and powder and have experimented with riding switch and jumping. Bumpy terrain is challenging but you can link turns down moguls without falling lots.
